O-Week runs from September 4th to 9th 2018
Orientation week is comprised of activities and events planned by the school and the Orientation Week Committee. The school hosts a number of events throughout the day Tuesday to Thursday such as welcoming ceremonies, meet your Prof events, and introduction lectures. These events are mandatory for all students and do not require signing up and paying the orientation week fee. They are a great introduction to law school and life at Weldon! Your regular classes will begin the following week.
In addition to these events, the Orientation Week Committee (us) plans a number of other events/activities to help you get to know your classmates and fun things to do around Halifax. The Orientation Week fee is $130. Included in this fee is a swag bag and all the activities highlighted in Aqua on the Orientation Week schedule.
To register, please fill out the survey. Payment needs to be sent by E-transfer to [email protected]. When sending the payment, please make the password Oweek2018. Also, if the name on the account sending the e-transfer is different from the name you enter into the survey please let us know so we can match your payment to your survey response. Please note, you are not officially registered until both the survey is complete AND the payment has been made. If you have any questions about payment, you can contact us at the same email.

We know that making the transition to law school can be tough. Below, you can find information pertaining to what you should do before, during, and after Orientation Week in order to make the adjustments as easy as possible.
Before O-Week Begins:
- Register for O-Week activities
- Orient yourself with the city of Halifax
- Check out the city's Transit Map and Halifax Map
- Orient yourself with Studley Campus (Dalhousie's main campus)
- Pick up your DalCard / UPass (this can also be done during or shortly after O-Week and YES, they are one item)
During O-Week:
- Bring your DalCard if you have it
- Have a snazzy outfit on hand for the semi-formal
- Have your phone number and Halifax address handy - it will be useful to register for school services such as the Sir James Dunn Law Library
After O-Week:
These are just general things you might want to consider for life in the Maritimes!
- Have at least one good suit for interviews. Recruiting for Summer 2019 begins as early as October for some cities!
- Equip yourself with waterproof gear (hat, jacket, shoes) - We're not kidding! Nova Scotia means "New Scotland" so there's plenty of rain (often horizontal), fog and wind and umbrellas often just don't cut it!
- Play a sport? Bring your gear and join one of Weldon's Intramural Teams!
